Architectural Services
You will need the services of an architect if you are looking to make structural changes to a home. Architects and contractors work closely and by understanding a client’s needs, together they can help design and build a project that not only looks great but that also falls within your budget.
We have worked closely with these architects and recommend them to our clients.
Often we have people reach out to us who are considering an addition and they aren’t sure if they should first meet with a contractor or an architect.
If you’re first interested in getting an idea of how much a project would cost, it makes sense to meet with a general contractor first, such as Duddy Construction. If you meet with a contractor who has completed multiple projects like you are considering, they will be able to give you a ball park estimate for how much the overall project would cost. If the estimate is within your budget, you could then meet with an architect who can begin the process of designing a space within your budget. This is a way that a homeowner can get a good idea about the overall cost before spending money on architectural drawings. The downside of creating a drawing first is that you may find out that the design is out of your budget. There is no one right way, but if you’re wondering about cost first, then it might make sense to meet with a contractor first.
